So you've heard about dry needling
I am asked all the time: What is dry needling?
Dry needling is the insertion of acupuncture needles into myofascial points to reduce tension, stimulation the chemical system and modulate the neural system.
In simplier terms dry needling:
- relaxes the muscles and fascia (web-like connective tissue connects body segments and spans the entire body)
- reduces the production of cortisol ("stress hormone") and increases the endorphins, dopamine and serotonin levels
- down-regulates the pain response in our brains
Dry needling or Western acupuncture, works great for tennis elbow, muscle aches and neck and shoulder tension.
I have undertaken extra training to be qualified for this practice. If you have any questions or to make an appointment for dry needling, please contact at firstname.lastname@example.org
